A Vanilla Visa card has to be activated, before it can be used for shopping, making payments… and so on. The most convenient way to go about this activation is by undertaking it on the Vanilla Visa website, which is www.vanillavisa.com.
Key steps in the www.vanillavisa.com activation process
The first step in the process of activating your Vanilla Visa card online is, of course, that of loading the Vanilla Visa website: www.vanillavisa.com.
Once you are there, you may be required to specify whether what you are dealing with is a Vanilla Gift Card or a Vanilla Reward Card. Once you make the appropriate choice, you are taken to what is essentially the homepage for your card type.
You will notice that there is a section (sort of a sidebar) on the homepage of your card type, where you can enter the card details, in order to essentially ‘log in.’ So you enter the card number, the card expiration date, and the CVV (signature code at the back), and then click on the ‘go’ button.
Once you are logged in, you will need to ‘register’ your card, which is essentially all about entering your zip code.
Once your card is registered, you can call the (toll free) number provided at the website, in order to activate the card. What actually happens, in the course of the call, is that an automated message instructs you to ‘enter’ the card number, and the card is henceforth activated.
Now that your card is activated, you can use it for online shopping, for making payments in brick and mortar stores, for making online payments… and pretty much anything else you can think of.
